PRACTICAL GUIDE

LitBuy Prohibited Items: What to Check Before Ordering

Check both purchase eligibility and delivery restrictions before paying for an item, particularly liquids or products with batteries.

Start here

Check three things separately: whether LitBuy can purchase the item, whether a shipping route accepts it and whether the destination permits its import. A listing or an estimator category is not confirmation that all three checks are satisfied.

Start with the platform’s rules

LitBuy publishes a prohibited-items statement covering categories such as dangerous goods, weapons, illegal drugs and counterfeit or pirated products. The list is not a complete guide to every destination’s rules. A product appearing in a directory does not confirm that LitBuy will purchase or ship it.

Check the exact product and route

Our suggestion: collect the details that could affect acceptance, including ingredients, battery type, liquid volume or materials. Ask support about the specific item and destination before buying when acceptance is uncertain. A different seller title does not change the contents of the parcel.

Prepare the details that determine acceptance

This is a question-preparation checklist, not an allowed-items list. Ask about the exact contents rather than only the product’s marketing name.

Product detailInformation to collect
Battery-powered itemBattery chemistry, capacity and whether it is installed or loose
Liquid or perfumeIngredients, volume and available product safety information
Fragile itemMaterial, packing requirements and any relevant protection exclusions
Food or plant/animal materialIngredients or material, origin and destination requirements
Branded itemClear source and product information; a logo alone does not establish lawful eligibility

Keep the answer specific

Include the source link and a clear description in your question. Ask whether the purchase is allowed, whether a suitable route is available and whether any extra handling applies. Save the response with the order so you can refer to what was actually reviewed.

Choose another item if it is not accepted

Do not rely on a similar product that someone else successfully shipped. Policies and available routes can differ. If an item is prohibited or no suitable service is available, resolve that before paying; do not disguise its contents or description.

A message that avoids a vague answer

Our suggested request: “Can you purchase and ship [source link] to [country/postcode]? The item contains [materials, liquid or battery details]. Please confirm purchase eligibility, available route, packaging requirements and additional charges. If you need a specification sheet, tell me which details are missing.”

Save the reply and recheck if you change the item, quantity or destination. An answer about one parcel is not blanket approval for another.
